The Elementary School at AISG follows the IBO Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP requires our students to be active participants in their own learning. This is achieved through inquiry based activities, integrating an American and international curriculum with grade level standards and benchmarks. The IB Student Learner Profile encourages students to become compassionate and lifelong learners who are: inquirers, thinkers, communicators, knowledgeable, risk-takers, principled, caring, open-minded, balanced and reflective. We are preparing our students to become tomorrow's global leaders. |

Living the PYP Learner Profile |

At AISG we live the IB learner profile. This is demonstrated by the risk takers who performed at the recent talent show and the kindergärtners who are communicators expressing themselves in individual ways. The grade 1's demonstrated caring by organizing a clothing drive during their inquiry on community helpers. The grade 2's are inquirers and conducted a survey to discover which goods would be popular at their bake sale and the grade 3's are being balanced physically, mentally and socially. The grade 4's are communicating how communication has changed over time and the grade 5's are knowledgeable after exploring ancient cultures. Recently, teachers demonstrated caring by participating in a build with Habitat for Humanity. |
